Press Conference: Beyond GDP: Measures that value people and planet - Second World Summit for Social Development (Doha, Qatar 4-6 November 2025)

The UN Secretary-General's High-Level Expert Group on Beyond GDP, co-chaired by Nora Lustig and Kaushik Basu, will present interim findings on a new global framework to better capture wellbeing, equity, and sustainability—complementing GDP as a measure of progress. The session will also launch a global online consultation to invite broad stakeholder input on valuing people and planet.
